The Tinja Hen House

Home base for our flock of laddies who keep our bugs and weeds in check, who clean up our food scraps, and who supply us with the tastiest organic free-range eggs.

Designed by architect Susie Lockhead, the winery was built in 2000, with the first vintage undertaken the same year with David as CEO & head winemaker. Since then production has grown to the now ~15,000 cases of wine produced each year from over 200 tonnes of grapes. The winery is at its busiest during vintage, around Febru- ary-April, with the team working all hours to harvest & crush grapes. Winemaking, however, is a year round pro- cess that also includes blending, tank & barrel maturation and bottling.
