How we got here.

David Lowe has a well-known and long-standing fasciation and love for the Zinfandel grape; an obsession born from his time working in Sonoma, California. Recently, the 2017 Lowe Zinfandel Museum Release scored a Gold Medal in the latest Halliday ratings – coming in with a score of 95 out of 100. And having achieved top gongs in the past for his Zinfandel at an international level, it is no surprise that there is now that golden ‘Z’ word affixed to our latest premium release.

Our Zinfandel Rosé gets “a very light press to extract just the best part of the juice” Bryan says, “with next to no skin contact, which keeps it [the wine] super delicate and light”. The very best of the grape – from what is regarded here at Lowe – as one of our best vintages yet.

The Wine.

Organic and biodynamic, from our iconic Block 6 Zinfandel, this release champions a lot of the methods, processes and standards we are focused on. Bryan says “Using Zinfandel grapes to make this distinctly French style of wine brings depth and complexity”. Coral pink in colour with a cola nut aroma. Light and dry to taste with mild acidity, yet retaining a soft finish – it’s a drop best served cold, accompanied by grazing food and good company.

Bryan’s suggestion? “The beautiful pale colour of Provencal Rosé, yet still a subtle textural mouthfeel, a flavour profile that works perfectly with a spread of antipasto, many seafood dishes, creamy pastas…… What’s not to love? My fridge is already stocked for Spring and Summer with this”.
